What are some difficulties you had while traveling?
 The language barrier is one of the major obstacles when traveling. People in different countries speak different languages. It can be tricky to have a conversation with the locals.
When I traveled overseas last year, the locals didn't speak a word of English or Korean.
I had a hard time communicating. Another problem with traveling is jet lag. If you travel a long distance, the time difference can be very big.  On my first trip to Europe, I suffered badly
from jet lag. I couldn't enjoy myself to the fullest, because I was so sleepy. At night in bed, I tossed and turned because I was wide awake.

1. language barrier 언어 장벽
The language barrier is a problem when traveling.
여행 중에는 언어 장벽이 문제다.
You won't feel a language barrier if you study hard.
열심히 공부하면 언어 장벽을 느끼지 않을 것입니다.
There is is no language barrier because they all speak the same language.
그들은 모두 같은 언어를 쓰기 떄문에 언어 장벽이 없다.

2. the locals 현지인들
It is hard to talk to the locals.
현지인들과 대화하는 것은 어렵다.
What do the locals usually eat?
현지인들은 주로 무엇을 먹나요?
She trust the locals more that the tour guides.
그녀는 관광 가이드보다는 현지인들을 더 믿는다.

3. have a hard time-ing ~하는 데 어려움을 겪다
I had a hard time communicating.
나는 의사소통을 하는 데 어려움을 느꼈다.
She is having a hard time breathing.
그녀는 호흡에 어려움을 느끼고 있다.
He had a hard time understanding the lyrics.
그는 가사를 이해하는 데 어려움을 느꼈다.

4. jet lag 시차로 인한 피로
Jet lag is a problem when traveling.
여행 중에는 시차로 인한 피로가 문제다.
He travels so often that he doesn't mind the jet lag.
그는 워낙 여행을 자주 해서 시차로 인한 피로를 개의치 않는다.
I needed to drink a lot of coffee to get over the jet lag.
나는 시차로 인한 피로를 극복하기 위해 커피를 많이 마셔야 했다.

5. enjoy oneself to the fullest 맘껏 즐기다
I couldn't enjoy myself to the fullest.
나는 맘껏 즐기지 못했다.
If you don't finish your homework first. you won't enjoy yourself to the fullest.
숙제를 미리 하지 않으면 맘껏 즐기지 못할 거야.
Without you, I couldn't enjoy myself to the fullest.
당신이 없어서 맘껏 즐기지 못했어요.
